Prathamesh Parab's Takatak 2 to arrive in cinemas on 19 August

Directed by Milind Zumber Kavde, the film is a sequel to Takatak (2019), which was a surprise hit that year.

Prathamesh Parab's sex comedy Takatak (2019) was a surprise hit when it was released. The film did well at the box office despite receiving mostly negative reviews.

The makers announced a sequel to the film, titled Takatak 2, last year. Now the sequel has got a release date.

Takatak 2 will arrive in cinemas on 19 August. The film's lead Prathamesh Parab shared the release date on Instagram with a new poster for the film.

Like the first film, the sequel is directed by Milind Zumber Kavde. Only Parab and Pranali Bhalerao have been retained for the sequel. The new film features Akshay Kelkar, Ajinkya Raut, Bhumika Kadam, Komal Bodkhe, Swapnil Rajeshirke, Kiran Mane, Pankaj Vishnu, Kiran Berad, RJ Mahesh Kale and Smita Dongre.

Takatak 2 went on the floors in April 2021 in Goa, but the shooting location was later shifted to Baramati and Bhor in Pune district of Maharashtra after a lockdown was imposed in Goa owing to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. The film's shoot was completed in July 2021.

Director Kavde said, "If Takatak tickled your funny bone, the second part will make you guffaw. We have kept the soul of the original intact while bringing a sassier feel to the story, taking the humour one step further."

Takatak 2 is presented by Reliance Entertainment Studios in association with Purple Bull Entertainment and produced by Omprakash Bhatt and Aditya Joshi.
