Janhvi Kapoor's upcoming film Good Luck Jerry (2022) will skip theatres and be released directly on Disney+ Hotstar. The thriller is set to be streamed on the platform from 29 July.
The actress announced the release date for the film with two new posters. In the first, a frightened Kapoor is seen holding a gun. In the second, the petrified actress is hiding behind a kitchen table which has two holes, presumably bullet holes.
The posters make it pretty clear that the film will have crime as a central element.
Good Luck Jerry has been written by Pankaj Matta and directed by Siddharth Sen. The film has a strong supporting cast with Deepak Dobriyal, Neeraj Sood, Mita Vashisht and Sushant Singh in pivotal roles.
Good Luck Jerry went on the floors in January 2021 and the shooting was completed in March the same year.
Produced by Aanand L Rai's Colour Yellow Productions, leading Southern production house Lyca, and Sundial Entertainment, this will be Kapoor's second feature film to go directly on to an OTT platform without a theatrical release. The first was Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl (2020), which was released when the first wave of the pandemic was still to ebb.
Apart from Good Luck Jerry, the actress will be seen this year in Mr. And Mrs. Mahi (2022), where she shares the screen for the second time with her Roohi (2021) co-star Rajkummar Rao, and Mili (2022), Hindi remake of the Malayalam film Helen (2019).
