Filmmaker Gajendra Ahire's long-delayed project Dear Molly is finally set to arrive in theatres on 1 July.

The makers announced the release date with a new title poster that features the film's cast Gurbani Gill, Alok Rajwade and Mrinmayee Godbole.

The film, which has been screened at several festivals and won the Best Feature Film award at the Guwahati International Film Festival, is about a girl whose parents go to Sweden when she is four, never to return. In an exclusive interview with Cinestaan.com, the director had revealed that 80% of the film was shot in Sweden and 20% in Pune, Maharashtra.

Along with the Marathi cast, Dear Molly stars Swedish artistes Lia Boysen, Chris Holmgren and Fernando Carabeli.

About the release date, director Ahire said, "I have been waiting for the release of this film for long now. The film manages to entertain as well as inform. Many of my films are based on social issues. I love handling things outside of the box."

Produced by Praveen Nischol and Ratan Jain, Dear Molly will be released in Marathi, Hindi and English.
