The official poster for Parambrata Chatterjee’s film Boudi Canteen (2022) reveals the look of actress Subhasree Ganguly’s character, which is inspired by India-born British chef Asma Khan. The film also stars the director as Ganguly's husband and Anusua Majumdar in the character of her mother-in-law.
In the poster, Ganguly's character is posing in a food truck with her husband and her mother-in-law. Soham Chakraborty, on the other hand, can be seen as a kitchen hand revealing the film's crew on a blackboard.
With the story of a married cook, Chatterjee’s film aims to convey that a woman can be successful doing whatever she is passionate about and her worth should not be judged by comparing her to a man.
While the film will primarily focus on Ganguly’s existential quest, it will also portray the husband's struggles with the criteria by which a man’s worth is often judged.
Boudi Canteen is slated to be released in theatres during Durga Puja this year.
