Rajkummar Rao started shooting for Hit: The First Case last year in September. The makers have now released the first poster of the movie. Directed by Sailesh Kolanu, the film is the official Hindi remake of the Telugu film of the same name helmed by the same person.
The poster sees Rao in an avatar with facial hair and earrings. Initially, it seems that there is a film reel laid over his face. But it turns out that the strip is actually a long stretch of highway.
Hit will see Rao play an officer in the titular Homicide Intervention Team. He is cast opposite Sanya Malhotra. The original film starred Vishwak Sen and Ruhani Sharma.
When the film was announced in July 2020, Sailesh said, “The first case of Hit tells the story of a police officer who is constantly fighting a battle with his past and his present. So it's a troubled character. I wanted to cast someone who could bring that darkness to the role and still make the audience root for him with a matured performance.”
The sequel to the Telugu film Hit: The Second Case will be released on 29 July. It stars Adivi Sesh and Meenakshi Chaudhary. Hence, there are chances that the Hindi version will also have a sequel if it is well-received.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Dil Raju, Krishan Kumar and Kuldeep Rathore, Hit: The First Case will be released on 15 July.
