Forensic trailer: A spine-chilling murder mystery

In Vishal Furia’s Forensic (2022), the Hindi remake of the Malayalam film of the same name, Vikrant Massey and Radhika Apte hunt for a serial killer who murders little girls.

The trailer sheds light on Massey’s quirky character and how forensic science plays a crucial part in investigations.

Forensic officer Johny Khanna (Massey) has his own way of solving murders and while identifying the suspects, he doesn’t even spare his fellow investigator, played by Apte.

The investigation gradually reveals that all the victims were murdered on their birthdays. The police officers receive a shock when Johny finds out from a forensic report that the murderer could also be a child.

Apte seeks help from a psychiatrist (Prachi Desai) to delve into the mind of the prime suspect, who is a minor. However, even after his arrest, more brutal murders take place, which leaves the entire investigation team puzzled and helpless.

In the end, the film takes the tone of a psychological thriller when Johny states that the person they were hunting for doesn’t even exist.

While Massey and Apte’s desperate moments create anticipation for some intense twists, the graphic depiction of the corpses, as well as the spooked appearance of the child characters in the film send a chill down the spine.

Forensic will be streamed on Zee5 from 24 June.
