Shabaash Mithu song ‘Hindustan Meri Jaan’ is brimming with patriotism


The song has been composed by Amit Trivedi and sung by him with Kailash Kher. The film, directed by Srijit Mukherji, is set for release on 15 July.

Though cricket has been known as a 'gentleman's game' for a long time, Mithali Raj took to the sport to make her mark, becoming India's longest serving women's cricket captain and leading the team to the World Cup final not once but twice, in 2005 and 2017.

The trailer for Shabaash Mithu, based on Mithali Raj’s life and starring Taapsee Pannu in the titular role, has been getting a lot of appreciation. Now the song ‘Hindustan Meri Jaan’ further stokes one's desire to watch the film.

The song strikes a chord in the Indian viewer, evoking a sense of patriotism. It also makes one slightly emotional. This is yet another lovely composition from the genius that is Amit Trivedi. He is also on the vocals with Kailash Kher.

The song has meaningful lyrics by Swanand Kirkire that make one feel for the country. The video showcases Mithali Raj’s journey from a little girl to India's best cricketer and a woman who is an inspiration to others.

Shabaash Mithu, directed by Srijit Mukherji whose previous film Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga was released online last month, is set to be released in theatres on 15 July.
