Tamil actor Vikram, who is awaiting the release of his film Cobra (2022), was hospitalized on Friday after he complained of discomfort due to high fever and allied symptoms, his publicist said.
According to news reports, Vikram was rushed to Chennai’s Kauvery hospital with high fever.
Denying reports that claimed the star had suffered a heart attack, his publicist said it was high fever and he was doing fine in the hospital. The publicist added that Vikram would be discharged soon.
Vikram is looking forward to two releases this year. He has Ajay Gnanamuthu’s long-delayed Cobra and Mani Ratnam’s epic Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1 (2022) due to be released. While Cobra hits the screens on 11 August, Ponniyin Selvan will be released on 30 September.
Meanwhile, Vikram is set to join hands with filmmaker Pa Ranjith for the first time. Producer Gnanavel Raja revealed in his interview to some leading Tamil entertainment portals that his next project with Vikram would be made on a massive scale. It could well be India’s biggest 3D film.
The producer revealed that the project will be made as a pan-India film. Artistes from different industries are being roped in to make the film more accessible in all the languages that the release is planned in.
The yet-untitled film will see Vikram team up with Ranjith for the first time. GV Prakash Kumar has been signed up to compose the music. The makers will announce the rest of the cast and crew soon.
