Habaddi trailer: A boy with speech impediment faces all odds in this coming-of-age sports film

Nachiket Samant's Habaddi (2022) is a coming-of-age sports drama about a 10-year-old boy Manya (Karan Dave) with a speech impediment who is bullied by the senior students of his school.
Manya has two friends, Ketaki and a donkey named Mastani. When Ketaki leaves for Mumbai, the boy also decides to follow her to Mumbai. When all hopes are lost, in enters Maruti Dhavre (Mayur Khandge), with a path to see her.
Dhavre is a Kabaddi coach who wants to teach the school kids to participate in a tournament held in Mumbai. Manya decides to use this opportunity to travel to Mumbai and volunteers to take part in the kabaddi tournament.
Manya also aspires to dives into a local well to retrieve a musical toy box that Ketaki has lost. At the bottom of the well is an interesting old statue that intimidates him.
The trailer promises an engaging and light-hearted coming-of-age drama that will also touch upon problems faced by children suffering from speech impediments. Child artiste Dave looks confident in his first ever role.
Habaddi also stars Rupesh Bane, Jayesh Kardak, and Arya Naik in supporting roles. The film is due to be premiered on Netflix on 18 July.
