The trailer of Raksha Bandhan struck an emotional chord with viewers. The film revolves around an average man (Akshay Kumar), who is worried about getting his four sisters married. It also stars the actor's Toilet Ek Prem Katha (2017) co-star Bhumi Pednekar.
The makers have now released the second track from the film after ‘Tere Saath Hoon Main’. This is a quintessential ‘song-and-dance’ shaadi song which has the vintage Himesh Reshammiya vibes.
It’s quite catchy; in fact, it’s likely that the song will become an earworm. While the brilliant Irshad Kamil's lyrics are fun, the beats make one groove.
The picturisation of the track is also done well and the lead pair dances ably to Vijay Ganguly’s choreography. While Akshay brings a lot of energy, Pednekar is graceful. The song certainly has all the familiar ingredients to become a hit at weddings and yet there’s something unique about the overall composition.
It appears like Reshammiya is back in his element. ‘Tere Saath Hoon Main’ sounded quite soulful and one hopes the other songs from the film are as good.
Raksha Bandhan, written by Himanshu Sharma and Anand L Rai, is set to be released on 11 August.
Check out the song and let us know if you are keen on watching the film.
