The teaser of Tamasha Live showed us that the film is about two viewership-hungry television news anchors played by Sonalee Kulkarni and Sachit Patil. The trailer gives us a bit more context about the relationship between Kulkarni and Patil's characters.
Patil plays well-established and popular news anchor Ashwin who also seems to have a lot of clout in the media industry, whereas Kulkarni plays a struggling news reporter, Shefali, who has to be content with reporting frivolous issues.
Shefali looks up to Ashwin, but one day, he ends up insulting her. Fueled by the desire for revenge, she vows to always remain one step ahead of her rival. It seems there is also a parallel track of some political one-upmanship going on between two rival parties in Maharashtra.
Hemangi Kavi-Dhumal, Pushkar Jog and Siddharth Jadhav also make brief appearances but not much is revealed about their characters in the film. In between, the artistes are also shown performing dance moves. The trailer makes you curious about the film's plot and the rivalry between Kulkarni and Patil's characters.
Written and directed by Sanjay Jadhav and produced by Planet Marathi, Tamasha Live will be released in theatres on 15 July.
