Janhvi Kapoor soothes your anxiety, says Good Luck Jerry actor Sahil Mehta

After acting in web projects such as Made In Heaven (2019), Guilty (2020) and Tabbar (2021), Sahil Mehta will now be seen in Disney+ Hotstar’s movie Good Luck Jerry, which stars Janhvi Kapoor. 

Speaking about his experience with Kapoor, he said in a statement, “Janhvi Kapoor is a beautiful soul. She soothes your anxiety and is really kind and wonderful to you, and gradually we became good friends. She exuded positivity and created new energy wherever she came to the sets. Not only that, but she is an absolute ball of energy, and she has tons of talent and expertise. I recall that during the filming of Good Luck Jerry, I taught bluff [card game] to Janhvi. I would love to work with her again sometime.” 

Directed by Siddharth Sengupta, Good Luck Jerry is about a young girl, played by Kapoor, forced to become a drug peddler because of her family’s financial situation. 

Mehta said that he discovers something about himself with each role. He plays a 20-year-old Sikh youngster named Jigar from Punjab who is learning the tricks of drug peddling. 

“Working on my role wasn't very tough, but it was really challenging since I had to completely change who I was in real life,” he added. “However, I had a lot of pleasure exploring [myself], thanks to this character. Each and every time you get to play a role, you get to discover a new aspect about yourself. It was a great experience for me to portray Jigar and I want to thank my director Siddharth Sengupta sir for helping me and pushing me to step beyond of my comfort zone for my character.” 

Mehta will next be seen in the keenly-awaited Akshay Kumar-starrer Raksha Bandhan, which will be out on 11 August.
