The long-delayed Ketaki Narayan-starrer Samaira (2022) is due to be released in theatres on 26 August.
A new poster for the film shows Narayan riding a bike as she sets off on an unknown journey. Helmed by Rishi Deshpande, the film's story, screenplay and dialogues are written by Sumit Tambe.
Interestingly, the film was earlier titled Nirmal En Route and now, the makers decided to change it to Samaira, which is also the name of Narayan's character.
Speaking about the film, director Deshpande said, "Everyone is on a journey to live life. Similarly, Samaira is also going through an extraordinary journey. The audience will soon get to know if she will achieve her goal. Currently, many new topics are being tackled in Marathi cinema. This story is also very unique."
Along with Narayan, the film also stars Ankur Rathee, Satish Pulekar, Rohit Kokate, Jui Pawar, Manasi Joshi, and Madhav Abhyankar.
Samaira is produced by Jagannath Surpure, Ratan Surpure, Shashikant Panat, Yohesh Alandkar, and Rishi Deshpande.
