Pathaan is one of the most anticipated films of next year as it will see Shah Rukh Khan back on screen four years after his last release Zero (2018). His eight-pack and powerful avatar have left fans awestruck.

Now six months before the film’s release, Yash Raj Films has launched the first-look poster of Deepika Padukone. The actress looks fierce and intimidating with a gun in her hand.

Talking about the actress’s role in the film, director Siddharth Anand said, “Deepika Padukone is a massive, massive star (I have to say it twice) and her presence in Pathaan makes our film even more exciting and grand. No one has yet seen her look in Pathaan, and we are thrilled to present a glimpse of her in our action spectacle. Deepika has a fierce role that will blow everyone’s mind.”

The director added that the actress was cast in the film because she has a huge pan-India following. “Deepika is a rare actor with a pan-Indian appeal like no other and having her in a film, looking the way she is, is a huge USP. We wanted to cast someone who has an appeal across gender and age and there is no bigger star in India today than Deepika Padukone. We can’t wait to unveil her character in the film when it releases only on the big screen on 25 January 2023,” said the WAR (2019) director.

Interestingly, the film is set to be released in Tamil and Telugu as well as Hindi.

Khan shared the motion poster on Instagram, writing, "She doesn't need a gun to kill you."

Pathaan also stars John Abraham, and this cast is one of the major USPs of the film. Fans are also excited about the reunion of the Om Shanti Om (2007) pair on-screen. The actors have recently shot a song in Mallorca, Spain which sees Khan and Padukone flaunting an eight-pack and the perfect bikini body respectively.
