The Astronaut and His Parrot, starring Ali Fazal, to be screened at Fantasia Festival

Arati Kadav’s sci-fi short film The Astronaut and His Parrot will be screened at the upcoming Fantasia Festival. Starring Ali Fazal, the film will be showcased in the competition section and will have its North America premiere at the international film festival.
The 15-minute film has been screened at the Sci-Fi London 2022 and the recently concluded London Indian Film Festival 2022.
The synopsis on the Fantasia website reads, “After an accident, an astronaut floats adrift in space, with less and less oxygen available to him. Aware of his impending death, he only wishes to speak to his daughter one last time. However, no one receives his transmissions… except for a parrot at the kiosk of a fortune teller. A funny, morbid and touching film, from the director of Cargo (2020).”
Cargo was Kadav's feature starring Vikrant Massey and Shweta Tripathi.
The filmmaker shared the news on Twitter.
