Atul Kale and Sudesh Manjrekar's iconic De Dhakka (2008) was about a Jadhav family’s crazy journey in an auto-rickshaw in a village in Maharashtra. Now the family is back for another crazy ride, but this time in London. Makarand Jadhav (Makarand Anaspure) who invented an auto part that helps drastically lower fuel consumption, gets invited to London to be felicitated by the Indian ambassador.
He along with his father (Shivaji Satam), wife (Sumedha Manjrekar), daughter (Gauri Ingawale), son (Saksham Kulkarni) and brother-in-law (Siddharth Jadhav) set off to London. But they get conned by a guy named Neeraj Dedhiya and now they are on the run from the police.
The trailer has the humour of Marathi films of the late 2000s. It also gives us a glimpse of the fun ride the film is going to be. Anaspure looks in top form. In the past few years, there have been a lot of adult comedies in Marathi cinema and there is a dearth of such simple, fun films, and we hope that De Dhakka 2 will bring back this trend.
Directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and Sudesh Manjrekar, and produced by Yatin Jadhav and Swati Khopkar, De Dhakka 2 will be released in theatres on 5 August.
Check out the trailer and let us know if you are keen on watching the film.
