Producer Rahul Dutta's short films A For Antara and Blue Cupboard being streamed on Disney+ Hotstar 

Actor and producer Rahul Dutta’s short films A For Antara, starring Manukriti Pahwa, and Blue Cupboard, featuring Sanah Kapoor and Akshay Anand Kohli, are being streamed on Disney+ Hotstar.

In A For Antara, directed by Anshuman Chaturvedi, Pahwa plays an award-winning actress, whose lively appearance often causes jealousy in others, especially in her siblings. However, she becomes so insecure that she starts getting hallucinations, wanders into oblivion and almost loses the track of her life until the actual reason for her sorrows shows her the light.

According to Dutta, the short film is a journey from darkness to light, from guilt to redemption.

“The character played by Manukriti is an epitome of liveliness, joy, excitement, festivity, laughter and everything else which young souls aspire to become until cruelty engulfs her entire being," said the actor, who is known for his performances in The Sholay Girl (2019), and his own productions Becharey (2020), and the Disney+ Hotstar series Time Machine (2019).

Sharing his working experience with Pahwa, Dutta said, “We met for some other project, but I sensed she didn't like it. Then I pitched A for Antara script. She is very hard working, a brilliant performer and truly dedicated. She is someone who gives new life to character. It was an insightful experience working with her.”

Director Keith Kenny's short film Blue Cupboard is about how a lack of communication can complicate relationships. “Blue cupboard is a metaphor for the communication the couple could've had and things could have been different,” said Dutta, “It's a very interesting story about certain moments in a modern relationship or any relationship between two people where certain things that define your coming years in a relationship. So that's what attracted me to create that moment where you see these two people go a certain way in their relationship and the reasons around it.”

Dutta had a wonderful experience working with both Kapur and Kohli. "Both actors were quite insightful, and their cooperation helped us bring out the story on screen the way we had intended to. Sanah is very spontaneous and a brilliant performer. The creative energies the actors brought on the set was commendable," added Dutta.
