Amazon Prime Video to premiere Rocketry: The Nambi Effect in Tamil from 26 July

R Madhavan’s directorial debut Rocketry: The Nambi Effect (2022) will be premiered on Amazon Prime Video from 26 July in Tamil, with dubbing options available in Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. 

Produced by Tricolour Films and Varghese Moolan Pictures, the film is a biopic on rocket scientist and aerospace engineer Nambi Narayanan at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

He was framed in an espionage case in 1994 but the charges were later dismissed. He was presented with the Padma Bhushan in 2019. 

Madhavan also plays the role of Nambi in the multi-lingual film which was released in theatres on 1 July. 

Sharing his thoughts about the film’s digital premiere, Madhavan said in a statement, “It’s an incredible honour for me to be able to bring this story to life. I’m truly humbled by all the love that the movie has already received and am quite excited to see what new milestones hold next for our film with streaming. Essaying this role and helming this incredible story of Nambi sir was very crucial, and I’m glad that we will be able to reach many more households to inspire, enlighten and entertain through Amazon Prime Video.”
