Priyanka More’s Bengali feature film Ghasjomi is set to have its world premiere at the 19th Indian Film Festival Stuttgart on 23 July.

The film has been directed by Sumantra Roy and tells the story of two women who meet by chance and open up about various topics which are often not spoken about. The film stars Sanjita, Suvosmita Mukherjee, Savon Chakraborty and Debashis Chatterjee.

More completed her film education at the New York Film Academy and then worked as a line producer for an award-winning commercial at the Cannes Festival.

Many short films produced by her were honoured in international festivals. Apart from that, the documentary Holy Rites has won the National award, among other accolades.

Asked about the production of her first Bengali film, More said, ‘"Filmmaking is an art. It is not bound by any language. In fact, I decided to do it because I liked the story of the film and the way it was told. My decision to make a Bengali film was entirely dependent on the demand of the script and my director. My journey was very challenging, but I learned a lot from it. It was a different experience to meet artists from different cultures, understand them and work with them."
