Kajol is the latest Hindi film star to make her over-the-top (OTT) debut. The actress announced her association with the Disney+ Hotstar platform in an unusual video on social media.
The video sees the actress on the sets with her back facing the camera. A voiceover intones that if Kajol is the same actress who won people’s hearts over the years and is all set to make her debut on Disney+ Hotstar, then she will turn around. This is a reference to a famous scene from her blockbuster Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), where Shah Rukh Khan’s character hopes that she will turn around to look at him.

The actress says in the video, “I am coming on Disney+ Hotstar with my show.”
Interestingly, Kajol’s husband and famous Hindi film actor Ajay Devgn made his OTT debut in the Disney+ Hotstar crime thriller Rudra: The Edge Of Darkness in March this year. Directed by Rajesh Mapuskar, the show was the official Hindi adaptation of the highly acclaimed British show Luther.
