Samantha will attend the upcoming Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) as a key guest. The actress is set to deliver a special talk on her acting career.
IFFM will be held physically after a gap of two years due to pandemic restrictions in Australia. The festival, which is being held from 12 to 20 August, will feature an interaction between the actress and her fans in the capital city of the Victorian state. Later, Samantha will be in conversation before a live audience, speaking of her career and trajectory in the last few years on 13 August.
The actress, who made her OTT debut in The Family Man (Season 2) on Amazon Prime Video, was last seen in the Tamil feature Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal (2022) with Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara. She is awaiting the release of the Telugu films Shakuntalam, Kushi and the bilingual Yashoda later this year.
The actress stated, “Last year, even though I was a part of IFFM virtually, I could feel the energy and vibe because of the enthusiasm of all the participants. With the world opening up and given the opportunity to travel to Australia to be part of it in person, to experience that energy first-hand, is something I’m looking forward to. Celebrating Indian cinema, in all its diversity with communities of both Indians and cinema lovers unanimously together is an exciting feeling.”
Festival director Mitu Bhowmick Lange said that Samantha has an ardent fan following in Australia. "Her fans are eagerly waiting for her to be part of IFFM and celebrate her, and her work at the festival this year. She’s such a versatile actor and has found such impeccable respect amongst her fans for her work,” she said.
