Chup teaser: Dulquer Salmaan, Sunny Deol, Shreya Dhanwanthary star in this twisted nod to Guru Dutt

The upcoming feature, Chup: Revenge Of The Artist, has unveiled an interesting teaser that features Dulquer Salmaan paying tribute to legendary filmmaker Guru Dutt and his cult film Kaagaz Ke Phool (1959).

Released on the filmmaker’s 97th birth anniversary, the short teaser shows Dulquer’s character bringing literal paper flowers to Shreya Dhanwanthary’s character. But while Shreya seems touched, the character played by Sunny Deol seems less than impressed.

The teaser notes that Kaagaz Ke Phool didn’t receive its due in its time. The video ends with Deol shouting ‘Chup’, cutting to the title with three and a half bloody stars. Pooja Bhatt, who also stars in the feature, is not seen in this teaser.

Produced by Gauri Shinde, Hope Filmmakers and Pen Studios, Chup: Revenge Of The Artist has been written by R Balki, Raja Sen and Rishi Virmani. Filmed by cinematographer Vishal Sinha and scored by Amit Trivedi, Chup is being distributed by Jayantilal Gada of Pen Studios.
