Atanu Bose’s upcoming film Achena Uttam will be released in theatres on 22 July. The film was initially supposed to hit the screens on 24 June.
The new release date has been announced via a motion poster, which reveals the look of Saswata Chatterjee as Uttam Kumar.
The motion poster has been designed keeping in mind Uttam Kumar’s look in Satyajit Ray’s Nayak (1966). Chatterjee can be seen sporting a black suit and dark sunglass, a cigarette between his fingers.
The background reminds one of an iconic sequence in Nayak, in which the protagonist has a nightmare about drowning in money.
Achena Uttam also stars Rituparna Sengupta as Suchitra Sen, Ditipriya Roy as Sabitri Chatterjee and Priyanshu Chatterjee as Satyajit Ray.
Newcomer actor Tirtharaj Basu will be seen as the young Uttam Kumar, while actress Srabanti Chatterjee will be seen as his wife Gouri Devi in the film.
