Box office: Jugjugg Jeeyo has an average first week, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 makes Rs182 crore so far

After collecting Rs35 crore nett on its first weekend, director Raj Mehta’s Jugjugg Jeeyo earned Rs50.90 crore in its first week, according to the trade website BoxOfficeIndia.com.

The family comic drama starring Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor has performed much better than most Hindi films with popular stars released this year, but it hasn't made enough to be called a hit. As per trade sources, the film was made on a budget of around Rs90 to Rs95 crore.

There isn’t much expected from this week’s new release, Rashtra Kavach OM, which stars Aditya Roy Kapur. This might help Jugjugg Jeeyo but not to a large extent.

Meanwhile, Anees Bazmee’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 finished its sixth week with Rs182 crore. The horror-comedy, which stars Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani and Tabu, is now nearing the end of its run, as per BoxOfficeIndia.com, but the film has already turned out to be a blockbuster.
