Neha Dhupia, Angad Bedi reveal name of their son

Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi have revealed the name of their second child, who was born on 3 October 2021. They told the Hindustan Times newspaper that they’ve named their son Guriq Singh Dhupia Bedi.

The actress also shared a few photos of the family, including her daughter Mehr, relaxing in the pool.

Explaining the meaning of his name, Dhupia told the Hindustan Times, “Guriq means one with God. One from God and saviour of the world. It is a different name and we love it, even the spelling is beautiful and unusual. The credit for the name goes to the mother, and the credit for the spelling goes to the father [Angad].”

Dhupia also said that while his parents call the boy Guriq, his elder sister Mehr calls him by a different name. “Before the delivery, when we were preparing Mehr that she would soon have a baby sister or a baby brother, she suddenly started calling the baby, Koala,” she shared. “Even now, she calls him that. That’s his pet name given by his loving sister. We also keep calling him koala bear. We love it because she stuck by the original, and we came up with the name much later.”

Dhupia and Bedi were married on 10 May 2018 and welcomed Mehr on 18 November 2018.

Dhupia, who was last seen in Sanak (2021), is awaiting the release of A Thursday (2022) which stars Yami Gautam. Bedi was last seen in the ALTBalaji and Zee5 web-series Mum Bhai (2020).
