Mithila Palkar, who was last seen in Netflix’s Little Things (2021), revealed yesterday that she tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of her 29th birthday on 11 January. The actress also said that she is asymptomatic.

In an Instagram Story, Palkar wrote: Hiee frenz! I have started my birthday week on a Covid positive note. Bummer, I know! I'm asymptomatic and isolating and enjoying all the attention my friends and family are virtually showering (sic)."

She continued, “That aside, my family is so far okay. I'm very careful with all of them (especially my grandparents, who I hardly meet now since I started working), so I'm hoping they continue to be okay.”

“Those who I met over the past 10 days have already been informed. I'm just popping by here to tell you to mask up, stay safe and hang in here!” she added.

Last year, Palkar shot for her maiden Telugu project opposite Vishwak Sen, the romantic comedy Ori Devuda. The project is a remake of the Tamil-language film Oh My Kadavule (2020) starring Ashok Selvan, Ritika Singh and Vijay Sethupathi.

The popular web-series Little Things, which also stars Dhruv Sehgal, ended its run with its fourth season arriving on Netflix last year.

Recently, several Indian artistes have tested positive including South stars Mahesh Babu and Trisha Krishnan, as well as figures from the Hindi film industry including actress Swara Bhasker and music composer and singer Vishal Dadlani.

Today, filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar also revealed that he had tested positive and was in isolation at home. The director was fully vaccinated.
