Crushed trailer: A coming-of-age tale that focuses on the sidekicks

The coming-of-age series Crushed (2022) revolves around the students of Lucknow Central Convent School as they navigate life in high school. The comedy-drama created by Dice Media (Pocket Aces) will be premiered exclusively on Amazon miniTV, which can be accessed via the Amazon shopping app, on 12 January.

The trailer informs us that like most traditional coming-of-age tales, this isn’t the story of toppers like Jasmine and Sahil, or even backbenchers like Prateek and Zoya. This story focuses on two sidekicks, Aadhya and Samvidhan, as they fall in love for the first time.

Besides the normal ups and downs of puppy love, the series will also look at friendships, struggles with authority and academics.

The six-episode series stars several young artistes, including Rudraksh Jaiswal, Aadhya Anand, Urvi Singh, Naman Jain, Arjun Deswal and Anupriya Caroli.

Crushed has been directed by Heena Dsouza and Mandar Kurundkar and written by Avinash Singh, Vijay N Verma, Nishaad Javeri and Aayush Gaur.

In a statement, Girish Prabhu, head of Amazon advertising, said, “We are excited about our collaboration with Pocket Aces, who are known for their entertaining stories that strike a chord with the youth. We always root for the underdogs and Crushed is one such interesting story that is not about the lead characters, but about their two sidekicks. This story will bring back high school nostalgia.”
