The Allu Arjun-starrer Pushpa: The Rise had its digital premiere on Amazon Prime Video today. But it should be noted that the film is available only in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam on the platform and the Hindi version of the blockbuster will be released at a later date.

Rumours have been doing the rounds on social media about the Hindi version of Pushpa being streamed from next week. However, veteran trade analyst Taran Adarsh dismissed these claims, since this iteration of the film is doing well at the box office across the country.

He tweeted, “Pushpa Hindi digital premiere: No date fixed yet. There’s talk that Pushpa Hindi version will premiere on a digital platform next week… [It’s] false… No date has been decided yet. A date will be decided once the theatrical revenue starts slowing (sic).”

Directed and written by Sukumar, Pushpa revolves around red sandalwood smuggling in Andhra Pradesh. It sees Allu Arjun play a smuggler who rises through the ranks of the underworld despite the efforts of the police.

The film also stars Rashmika Mandanna as his love interest and Fahadh Faasil as the antagonist. Interestingly, the Hindi version of the film has depicted Fahadh as a Haryanvi police officer.

Correction, 10 January 2022: An earlier version of this report said the Hindi version of Pushpa: The Rise would be released on Netflix. It is being released on Amazon Prime Video.
