Unpaused: Naya Safar to be streamed on Amazon Prime Video from 21 January


The sequel features an ensemble cast comprising Saqib Saleem, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Neena Kulkarni and Priyanshu Painyuli.

Amazon Prime Video has announced the sequel to its acclaimed Hindi-language anthology film Unpaused, which revolves around the lives of individuals affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The follow-up, titled Unpaused: Naya Safar, features an ensemble cast comprising Saqib Saleem, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Neena Kulkarni and Priyanshu Painyuli. The film will be premiered on the platform on 21 January 2022.

The streaming giant took to Instagram to share the poster of Unpaused Naya and captioned the image, "To hope, to love, to being together in this UnpausedOnPrime new season, Jan 21 (sic)."

Just like the first edition, the new anthology comprises five shorts helmed by different directors.

The Couple, directed by Bewakoofiyaan (2014) helmer Nupur Asthana, stars Shreya Dhanwanthary and Priyanshu Painyuli.

Teen Tigada, helmed by Ruchir Arun, stars Saqib Saleem, Ashish Verma and Sam Mohan.

The third segment, Vaikunth, whose director is Nagraj Manjule, stars Arjun Karche and Hanumant Bhandari.

Filmmaker and writer Shikha Makan's Gond Ke Laddu, stars Neena Kulkarni, Darshana Rajendran and Lakshvir Singh Saran.

The fifth and final short film, War Room, which has been directed by Ayappa KM, stars Geetanjali Kulkarni, Rasika Agashe, Purnanand Wandhekar and Sharvari Deshpande.

Each of these stories will delve into the relatable challenges that the COVID-19 pandemic has posed to everyone and will highlight how these circumstances transformed us and gave us a newfound respect for life.
