Bittersweet, Ek Duaa selected for Rajasthan International Film Festival


Ilanthirayan Alan Arumugam's film Aiyai: Wrathful Soul, Vijeesh Mani's Mmmmm: Sound of Pain and Tharun Moorthy's Operation Java will also be showcased at the event.

The eighth edition of the Rajasthan International Film Festival (RIFF) will be held from 25 to 30 March in Jodhpur. The organizer of the event, the RIFF Film Club, has released a list of 20 feature films, shorts and documentaries that it will showcase.

The selected short film titles are Vineet Sharma's Gajra, starring Sachin Khedekar and Sonali Kulkarni; Ashutosh Chaturvedi and Pankaj Mavchi's Pilibhit (The Yellow Wall); Mayank Pushpam Singh's Naa Jaane Kyun; Ruhi Aka Rohini Hak's E-Rickshawali 2021; Brijesh Kakodker's Konkani short Gagan (Sky); Kritesh Agarwal's Tired Heart; Jeyachandra Hashmi's Tamil short Sweet Biriyani; Ed Hartman's documentary It Gets In Your Blood; and Mya Kaplan's student film Habikur (Night Visit).

The documentary features that will be screened are Fabienne Le Houérou's Princes and Vagabonds, which explores the community of Manganiar musicians and their musical identity and migrations; and Dr Bhawani Singh Rathore and Rohit Guptaa's Ek Rajput Kisan: The Real Story. 

The fiction features include Ram Kamal Mukherjee's Ek Duaa: A Prayer, starring Esha Deol Takhtani and Shubho Bijoya, starring Gurmeet Choudhary and Debina Bonnerjee; Amar L's Kannada film Masanada Hoovu (Flower of a Graveyard); Adari Murthy Sai's Telugu feature Dahanam; Anant Mahadevan's Marathi film Bittersweet; Ilanthirayan Alan Arumugam's film Aiyai: Wrathful Soul; Vijeesh Mani's Malayalam film Mmmmm: Sound of Pain; and Tharun Moorthy's Operation Java.

Somendra Harsh and Anshu Harsh, managing trustees of RIFF Film Club and founders of RIFF, said, "This year, the eighth edition of RIFF will be held in Jodhpur from 25 to 30 March. The closing ceremony and The Grand RIFF Award Night 2022 will be organized on 30 March in Jodhpur on the occasion of Rajasthan Diwas."
