Prajakta Mali, who completed a decade in entertainment last year, believes 2022 will be a game-changing year for her. Mali, who made her acting debut with the television serial Suvasini (2011–13), will be seen in three films and one web-series this year.
The actress will be seen in the romantic comedy Luck Down (2022), the historical action drama Pawankhind (2022) and the musical Chandramukhi (2022). Mali is also going to make her OTT debut this year with Ranbazar in which she will play a prostitute.
Of her upcoming projects, Mali said, "It looks like 2022 will fulfil many dreams in my bucket list. I have been working in the Marathi film industry since 2013. But this is the first time you will see me sharing the silver screen with Ankushdada [Chaudhary] in Luck Down, where I will be seen in the role of a modern girl. In Pawankhind, I'm playing the role of an aristocratic queen named Shrimant Bhavanibai Bandal. And in complete contrast to these two characters, I will be seen swearing without a care in my first web-series Ranbazar. As an actress, I always wished to play different types of characters and finally my dream is being fulfilled."
Along with getting the opportunity to play diverse characters, there is another reason why this year will be special for Mali. The actress is turning producer with her banner, Shivoham Productions. "There are two more things on my bucket list [happening] this year," she said. "I am a fan of Ajay-Atul's music. For the past few years, I have been thinking I should get a chance to dance to one of their songs. This year my wish will be fulfilled in Chandramukhi. Second, the dream of becoming a producer. The shooting for my maiden production venture will start soon."
Mali was seen recently in Viju Mane's widely panned comedy film Pandu (2021) in which she played the antagonist. "No one expected me to play a negative role as I have an innocent face," she laughed. "Now I don't know about the sequel. But if Pandu 2 happens and I have a role in it, I would definitely like it."
