The original film is about a woman who is married with a lot of fanfare. But soon after marriage, she realizes that her life is like that of an unpaid maid who has to carry out just about every task in the house, including, of course, cooking. On top of that, she faces mental harassment from her husband and in-laws. How long she tolerates the ordeal forms the rest of the story.
The Malayalam film saw Suraj Venjaramoodu play the role of the arrogant husband. The Tamil remake will see Rahul Ravindran essay that character.
The Tamil remake of The Great Indian Kitchen is scheduled to be released this year.
