Komal Nahta to be felicitated at the Rajasthan International Film Festival 2022

The eighth edition of the Rajasthan International Film Festival (RIFF), organized by the RIFF Film Club, has announced that an Outstanding Contribution to the Business of Cinema award will be conferred on veteran film trade analyst Komal Nahta.

The festival is being organized from 25–30 March 2022 and will also celebrate Rajasthan Diwas, Somendra Harsh, founder and director of the festival, said.

Nahta, who hails from Jodhpur in Rajasthan, heads the trade magazine Film Information which was started in 1973 by his father Ramraj Nahta. The magazine now also has an online presence as filminformation.com.

Nahta’s analysis of films and film business is often quoted in film trade circles and the website has been providing information about the business of cinema in a space where there are very few trade analysts.

A chartered accountant (CA) by training, Nahta joined his father soon after qualifying as a CA. He also hosts a number of television shows such as Bollywood Business on Zee's ETC channel, Starry Nights on Zee Worldwide (including Zee Cafe and Living Foods in India), and Komal Nahta... Aur Ek Kahani on all DTH platforms (Tata Sky, Airtel, Dish TV and Videocon). He also has his own YouTube channel, Komal Nahta Official.

The festival will present Nahta the award on the Grand RIFF Award Night 2022 on 30 March, which is also Rajasthan Day.
