Have been receiving praise for performance in Human, says Indraneil Sengupta

Indraneil Sengupta plays Neil, a photographer who is married to Kirti Kulhari’s doctor character, in the recently released Disney+ Hotstar web-series Human, which also stars Shefali Shah.

The actor says he has received much praise for his performance in the show. “For the past 10-12 days, I have been getting calls and messages from people I haven’t been in touch with and that tells me the appreciation is genuine!” he said in a  statement.

Human has been directed by Vipul Amrutlal Shah and Mozez Singh. The majority of Sengupta’s scenes were directed by Singh and the actor feels he helped him get into the character. “I try to understand my director’s vision and try to do my best to fit into that. I listen to my director, add a bit of my own understanding and feed off other actors. So it always helps to observe someone like Shefali and Kirti and understand their approach and their process and just react to them,” he added. 

Sengupta also got a chance to work alongside veteran actress Raveena Tandon in the latter’s maiden web-series Aranyak on Netflix. “The best thing about her is that she is a lovely human being. She has no air of seniority or stardom and is very hardworking on the set. Director Vinay Waikul was very clear about what he wanted and would push his actors to give their best for every shot. And the result is there for everyone to see as Aranyak has been lauded for the performances of the entire cast,” said the actor.
