First-time director Shubham Re’s Marathi movie Gaav Aala Gotyat 15 Lakh Khatyat was announced in April last year. Post-production work on the film was completed recently and the makers have now revealed that it will be released in theatres on 4 February.
Produced by Ganpat Raoji Maisane and Prashant Prakash Chandrikapure, the film stars Prakash Bhagwat, Priya Gamre, Sanjivani Jadhav, Vilas Ujawane, Rangrao Ghagre and Chandni Patil. The makers have claimed that the movie is a laugh-riot.
Gaav Aala Gotyat 15 Lakh Khatyat is set in Salai Mokasa village in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra. The story revolves around Gopya (Bhagwat). Staying with his family, he is known for landing others in trouble with his half-baked and outright false knowledge. He creates chaos in the village by spreading the news that everyone will receive Rs15 lakh in their bank accounts.
Gamre and Jadhav, a well-known theatre actress and director, play his wife and mother, respectively.
Gaav Aala Gotyat 15 Lakh Khatyat will be clashing with as many as four other Marathi films on 4 February. The others which are already set for release next weekend are Panghrun, Lochya Zaala Re, Faas and Law Of Love.
