Malayalam actress Nimisha Sajayan to make a foray in Marathi cinema with Hawa Hawai

Popular Malayalam actress Nimisha Sajayan is set to make a foray into Marathi cinema with the upcoming Hawa Hawai.

The film, helmed by Mahesh Tilekar, is scheduled to be released in theatres on 1 April 2022.

Tilekar who had kept the name of his lead actress under wraps, finally revealed the news on Facebook along with a new poster featuring Nimisha.

The motion poster sees a gleeful Nimisha clad in a traditional saree riding a scooty. From the poster, it appears that this is going to be a woman-centric film.

The film, which also stars Ankit Mohan, marks Tilekar's return to the director's chair after a ten-year sabbatical. His previous film was One Room Kitchen (2011).

Nimisha, who shot to fame with her performances in critically acclaimed Malayalam films like The Great Indian Kitchen (2021) and Maalik (2021), where she was cast opposite Fahadh Faasil, is also going to make her Hindi debut this year with director Onir's drama We Are.

The actress is also starring in the British Indian feature Footprints On Water with Adil Hussain. The film has been written by Neetha Syam, fifth winner of the second Cinestaan India's Storytellers Contest.
