Amid rumours that the highly anticipated Prabhas-starrer Radhe Shyam will be released directly on a digital platform, its makers have reiterated that the film will only be released in theatres.

Over the past few days, several reports have claimed that the makers have been offered a whopping Rs500 crore for a direct-to-OTT release.

On Wednesday, the film’s director Radha Krishna Kumar took to Twitter to wish everyone on Republic Day and add that Radhe Shyam would only be released in theatres.

“Wishing the greatest nation in love and culture a Happiest Republic Day. Radhe Shyam in theatres soon (sic),” he tweeted.

Composer Thaman, who has worked on the Telugu version of the movie, has also clarified via a tweet that the film will be premiered in cinemas.

“Radhe Shyam only in theatres. Grand visuals, grand sound, grand making. And with grand love from our team of Blockbuster Radhe Shyam. I will watch with you all. Only in theatres with top notch @DolbyAtmos @DolbyCinema (sic),” he wrote.

Radhe Shyam marks the maiden collaboration between Prabhas and Pooja Hegde. The project, which sees Prabhas play a palm reader, is said to have been made on a budget of over Rs150 crore.

The project, which went on the floors in January 2020, has been predominantly shot in and around Europe. A special set was erected in Annapurna Studio, Hyderabad where the film’s final schedule was completed in November 2020.

Meanwhile, Prabhas recently commenced work on his upcoming multilingual science-fiction film with director Nag Ashwin. Deepika Padukone will make her Telugu debut in the project, which is being bankrolled by Vyjayanthi Movies.
