Amjad Ali Khan, sons Amaan and Ayaan present their version of ‘Vaishnava Jana To’; see video


The original bhajan was written by saint Narsinh Mehta and was popularized countrywide by Mahatma Gandhi.

Sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and his sons, sarod players Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash (earlier known as Amaan Ali Khan and Ayaan Ali Khan) have come up with their version of the famous bhajan ‘Vaishnava Jana To’ on the occasion of Republic Day and to celebrate India’s 75th year of independence.

The instrumental version of the song has been released by Panorama Music on its official YouTube channel and on other digital platforms. The bhajan was written by saint Narsinh Mehta andpopularized countrywide during the freedom movement by Mahatma Gandhi.

About their version of the devotional number, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan said in a statement, “Music unites everyone. Like fragrance, water, fire, colours, air, it belongs to everyone. ‘Vaishnava Jana To’ becomes even more symbolic today when peace across the world is being seen as the elixir for the sustenance of global harmony and brotherhood.” 

Sharing his thoughts on collaborating with the trio, Rajesh Menon, chief executive officer of Panorama Music, said, “This is a special year for all Indians and to commemorate it and make it memorable for successive generations, we have come up with this unique rendition which will undoubtedly tug at our collective heartstrings.
