The main goal of movie trailers is to tantalize potential audiences and get them to spend their hard-earned money at the box office. In this very short career, I have seen a few terrible trailers of bad films, but many are entertaining enough to sit through. But still, every once in a while, a promo comes along that makes the aforementioned clips look like classics.
The trailer of J Uday's upcoming romantic action drama Law Of Love falls into this category. The film seems to be a perfect example of genre-mashing gone wrong. It begins by introducing us to the 'dashing' protagonist, played by J Uday, as he smacks around a few goons. We are then subjected to some terribly acted emotional and romantic scenes interspersed with a few more lacklustre fight scenes.
Besides spoiling the story in an unceremonious manner, the trailer exposes the glaring shortcomings of the film such as the horrible performances of the lead actors and equally bad writing and direction.
Also, what are veteran actors like Yatin Karyekar and Mohan Joshi doing in this train wreck?
This is J Uday's maiden film as an actor, director and writer and it's pretty clear that he has miles to go before he can be taken seriously as an artiste.
Law Of Love was supposed to be released in theatres on 9 April 2021 but was postponed due to the second wave of COVID-19. The film will hit the screens on 4 February.
