Indie artistes Kabeer Kathpalia aka OAFF and Savera Mehta have fashioned a bouncy pop-synth track for the Deepika Padukone and Siddhant Chaturvedi-starrer Gehraiyaan titled 'Doobey'.
The number is built around the passion between the lead characters, who ensconced themselves in their illicit relationship. They are both outsiders and want to escape the situation they are in, and find comfort in each other. A sense of exploration, comfort and romance comes through in the song.
OAFF and Savera's composition is hypnotic, to say the least. The song has an easy rhythm that takes you by surprise. Lothika's vocals and Kausar Munir's wonderful lyrics are the icing on the cake. The beats balance out the vocals perfectly, never overpowering the movement of the track. The track hits a high when the chorus and background sync together, bringing the song to an emotional peak.
Gehraiyaan has been directed by Shakun Batra and produced by Dharma Production Films and Viacom18 Studios, in association with Jouska Films.
The romantic drama will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video on 11 February.
