Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas and her husband Nick Jonas have become parents via surrogacy. The couple shared the news on their respective social media accounts on Friday and sought privacy as they embark upon parenthood. They refrained from disclosing further information.
“We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate,” wrote the celebrity couple, “We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family. Thank you so much.”
In a recent interview with Vanity Fair magazine, the actress had spoken about starting a family. Asked whether her mother hopes to become a grandmother soon, Chopra Jonas had replied, “They’re a big part of our desire for the future. By God’s grace, when it happens, it happens.”
The couple tied the knot in December 2018 in Jodhpur in both Christian and Hindu ceremonies.
The actress was last seen as the character Sati in The Matrix Resurrections (2021), the fourth instalment in the iconic American science fiction action franchise.
