Ketaki Mategaonkar became a teenage sensation after she appeared in Sujay Dahake’s Shala (2012). Although she continued acting in films in the years to follow, she also established herself as a quality singer.

‘Sahvena Anurag’ from Mahesh Manjrekar’s upcoming movie Panghrun is yet another track where she displays her vocal prowess.

The film revolves around a young woman, Lakshmi (Gauri Ingawale), who becomes a widow at a young age. She is later married off to an elderly widower Antu Guruji (Amol Bawdekar), who is unable to love her. Lakshmi is a trained western dancer and she is seen practising the art in this song.

Apart from Mategaonkar’s voice, Hitesh Modak’s deeply satisfying music and Vaibhav Joshi’s poetic lyrics also enrich this number.

The song also reminds one of the classical songs from Manjrekar’s last musical, Bhaai Vyakti Kee Valli: Purvardha (2019), which was a biopic on the humourist Pu La Deshpande.

The song has visual appeal, not just in terms of the picturization but also the performances of Ingawale and Bawdekar; both of whose characters experience different kinds of emotional turmoil. The film also stars Rohit Phalke, who makes a fleeting appearance in the music video.

Panghrun is set to be released in theatres on 4 February.
