The makers of the Gashmeer Mahajani- and Mrinmayee Godbole-starrer Vishu have revealed that the film will be released in theatres on 1 April 2022.

Produced by Babu Krishna Bhoir, Vishu is directed by Mayur Madhukar Shinde. It also stars Aetasha Sansgiri, Mansi Mohile, Milind Pathak, Vijay Nikam and Sanjay Gurbaxani.

To mark the occasion, the makers, who have described the film as a 'unique love story', shared the first poster for the movie. The poster features Mahajani. His full face isn’t visible, but the image is appealing as the actor is seen relaxing and enjoying nature on a boat in a creek on the Konkan coast.

Mayur Shinde said in a statement, “I am excited by the news of the film's release. Along with Gashmeer and Mrinmayee, I enjoyed working with all the other actors. All of them are professional actors. What happens when people with divergent views come together is what we have tried showing in Vishu through a sweet love story. I am sure the audience will appreciate this movie.”

While Shinde has also contributed to the film's story, the screenplay and dialogues have been penned by Hrishikesh Koli.

Apart from Vishu, Mahajani is gearing up for the release of the historical film Sarsenapati Hambirrao this year. The film will see him essay the role of Shivaji while Pravin Tarde plays the titular character.
