Bhaskar Hazarika, Nithin Lukose's projects selected for 20th Hong Kong-Asia Film Financing Forum

The 20th Hong Kong-Asia Film Financing Forum has selected three Indian projects for its upcoming edition, which will be held virtually from 14 to 16 March.
The in-development projects are Bhaskar Hazarika’s Insectum, Nithin Lukose’s The Partner and an Indo-French feature produced by Sonal Sehgal titled Travellers.

Produced by Shyam Bora, Hazarika's Insectum follows a man into an insect-like state. The National award-winning filmmaker has previously made the Assamese features Kothanodi (2016) and Aamis (2019).
Lukose’s debut film, PAKA (River Of Blood), was premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last year. Raj Rachakonda and Anurag Kashyap, who co-produced the Malayalam film, are returning to back the sound designer-turned-filmmaker’s project, The Partner.
Actress Sehgal turned producer with Manny, an Indo-Latvian production in which she also acted. This is will be her second film as producer. The Indo-French production Travellers is directed by Pierre Filmon who is also co-producer.
This year, 28 projects have been picked from 222 submissions that come from 38 different countries and regions; twelve of these are from first-time feature filmmakers. The independent film project market is being held virtually for the third year in a row.
