Bachchan Pandey (2022) is sticking to the month of March for release. The Hindi entertainer starring Akshay Kumar has been pushed back by two weeks from 4 March and will now arrive in theatres on 18 March, which is Holi.
Akshay Kumar, who plays the titular character, shared a fresh set of posters revealing the new date and his look in the film. In the first solo poster, the actor is seen with a gun and sharp curved knives in a knapsack. His rough-looking character is seen wearing several chains and other items of jewellery.
The second poster features Bachchan Pandey front and centre on a truck filled to the brim with men wielding sharp weapons.

Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Bachchan Pandey also features Kriti Sanon, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Pankaj Tripathi, Prateik Babbar, Saharsh Kumar Shukla and Abhimanyu Singh.
Akshay Kumar underwent a few look tests for the character before this one was finalized; he told Variety magazine in an interview that his character is that of a rustic gangster who is inspired to fight for justice after a harrowing incident. Coincidentally, in Tashan (2008), he also played a character by the same name.
Bachchan Pandey, which was first announced in 2019, was filmed in Rajasthan last year. Like many other big Hindi productions, it faced several delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was due for release on Republic Day 2022, but was pushed to March to accommodate the action star’s other big release, Prithviraj (2022). However, that film, too, has been delayed by the pandemic.
