Zombies are scary creatures who are dead but not entirely. They walk around like monsters with blood spilling from their faces and eyes popping out. Going by zombie films made in the West, you become one if a zombie digs its teeth into you.
But filmmaker Aditya Sarpotdar’s Zombivli is a zombie comedy that looks at the funny side of these undead creatures. The trailer for the film shows that Dombivli, a distant suburb of Mumbai in Thane district, has been attacked by zombies. Hence, the title Zombivli.
The trailer, which is a little over two minutes long, offers enough indication that the film will be a laugh riot, aided by the ‘Vinchu Chawla’ song. It sets the tone right at the start when Amey Wagh’s character hilariously tries to explain what zombies are to an officer at a police station. Wagh gets maximum footage in the trailer and he is naturally funny.
The film also seems to have got the zombie part right. In other words, the zombies are believable, insofar as the existence of such creatures can be believed, and the director seems to have done justice to the scenes involving them.
Vaidehi Parshurami and Lalit Prabhakar appear to be in good form. The film also stars Janaki Pathak and Trupti Khamkar.
Produced by Yoodlee Films, Zombivli will be released in theatres on 26 January. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you are keen to watch the film.
