The 26th edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), which was scheduled to be held from 4–11 February, has been postponed.
The festival shared a post on its Instagram page, saying, “26th IFFK has been postponed. The festival will be held once the COVID situation improves; revised dates will be announced later.”
The IFFK was originally slated to take place in the second week of December last year but was pushed to February this year to facilitate the organizing of the 13th edition of the International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala (IDSFFK). The IDSFFK had also been postponed due to the pandemic and was finally held from 9–14 December 2021.
The 25th edition of the IFFK was held in four phases in four locations, Palakkad, Thalassery, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram, in view of the pandemic restrictions in Kerala. The move drew mixed reactions with most feeling that the festival should remain in the state's capital city. The 2022 edition was scheduled to be held in Thiruvananthapuram.
