Actor-filmmaker Dhanush and his filmmaker wife Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth announced their decision to part ways yesterday after 18 years of marriage.
As the couple took to social media to share the development, fans were heartbroken and expressed their unhappiness.

Some fans of Dhanush requested fans of his rival stars not to comment on the couple’s decision. One wrote: “Dear Silambarasan TR fans, don't interfere with Dhanush's family issue. This is purely Dhanush anna and Aishwarya ma'am issue."

Dhanush is currently shooting for the Tamil-Telugu bilingual film Vaathi. The Telugu version of the movie is called Sir.
Being directed by Venky Atluri, the film will see Dhanush play a professor. The project will mark Dhanush’s debut in the Telugu industry.
The team kickstarted the shoot with a customary pooja. The launch was attended by filmmaker Trivikram who clapped the first shot.
Samyuktha Menon has been roped in to play the leading lady while GV Prakash Kumar has been signed on to compose the music. The project is being bankrolled by Sithara Entertainment.
Seen earlier in the Tamil film Jagame Thandhiram (2021), Dhanush will soon commence work on a trilingual project with filmmaker Sekhar Kammula. The project, which will go on the floors in a few months, also stars Sai Pallavi.
Meanwhile, Dhanush is looking forward to the release of the international Netflix film The Gray Man soon. On being signed for The Gray Man, he had released a statement which read, 'Elated to announce that I will be joining the team of Netflix’s The Gray Man starring Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans, directed by the Russo Brothers (Avengers, Captain America: Winter Soldier). Looking forward to being a part of this wonderful action experience.
