Coronavirus update: Mammootty tests positive for COVID-19


The actor, who has a slight fever and is staying in isolation at home, was shooting for the Malayalam film CBI 5.

Actor Mammootty has revealed that he tested positive for the coronavirus on January 15. He added that he has a slight fever and has isolated himself at his home in Kerala. He added that despite taking all the necessary precautions, he tested positive.

Mammootty was shooting for the Malayalam film CBI 5, the production of which has been temporarily halted. 

Taking to social media, Mammootty wrote, "Despite taking all the necessary precautions, I have tested Covid Positive yesterday. Besides a light fever, I am otherwise fine. I am self-isolating at home as per the directions of the concerned authorities. I wish for all of you to stay safe. Mask at all times and take care (sic)."

Mammootty was last seen in the Malayalam political thriller One (2021). Directed by Santhosh Viswanath, One saw Mammootty play Kerala's chief minister.
