Tigmanshu Dhulia's The Great Indian Murder sets up an intriguing web of deceit

The series, which has been adapted from Vikas Swarup's novel of the same name, will star Richa Chadha and Pratik Gandhi.

Tigmanshu Dhulia's next Disney+ Hotstar series has been titled The Great Indian Murder.

Adapted from Vikas Swarup's bestseller Six Suspects, the series will star Richa Chadha and Pratik Gandhi.

The poster of the series captures the many faces of the 'six suspects' involved in the process.

The makers preceded the first poster of the series with an intriguing video of a masked host asking why 'Vicky Rai' is roaming free. "Vicky Rai is a danger to society because he cruelly and unashamedly mocks the system," says a masked man named 'Mr Nagrik' [Mr Citizen].

In addition to Chadha and Gandhi, the series will feature Ashutosh Rana, Paoli Dam, Shrey Oberoi and Shashank Arora. Chadha reportedly plays the police officer who leads the investigation.

Swarup's 2005 novel Q & A served as the basis for Danny Boyle's Academy Award-winning Slumdog Millionaire (2008).

Six Suspects is loosely based on the infamous Jessica Lal murder case. The novel begins with the murder of a socialite named Vicky Rai at a party and follows the journey of six suspects.

Produced by Ajay Devgn Ffilms and Priti Sinha's Reel Life Entertainment, the series marks Gandhi's return to long-form narratives after the massive success of Scam1992: The Harshad Mehta Story (2020)
